An accident that occurred Friday shortly after 3:30 p.m. required closing a portion of Swamp Pike just east of its intersection with North Charlotte Street.
New Hanover volunteer firefighters responded Monday at about 1:30 p.m. to a call from Frederick Living in Upper Frederick, where a broken attic pipe sent water raining down on lower floors and created internal damage.
With video and four photos. New Hanover firefighters, accompanied by assisting departments, police, and an ambulance, extinguished a Sunday afternoon fire on Orchard Lane in the township.
A Tuesday morning single-vehicle accident, in which a pick-up truck went through a guard rail on the east side of state Route 663 near Deep Creek Road, brought out New Hanover police, firefighters and fire police units.
A truck crashed Tuesday at 11:21 a.m. into a utility pole on the west side of the 2100 block of North Charlotte Street, disrupting electrical power for a time and blocking the highway for a lengthy period.
Occupants of a Tyler Court, Lower Pottsgrove home were safely evacuated Monday before firefighters from Sanatoga, Ringing Hill, Pottstown, Limerick, and New Hanover companies arrived to put out visible flames and abundant smoke.
Volunteers from the Sanatoga, Ringing Hill, New Hanover, and Gilbertsville fire companies drove water pumping apparatus Saturday to Sanatoga Lake in Lower Pottsgrove, where the pumps were professionally tested.
Police investigating a Thursday afternoon one-car accident on North Charlotte Street near Bliem Road tentatively attributed its cause to wet weather. The driver suffered minor injuries, they said.
