The Pottstown-based charity that sends weekend meals home, literally on the backs of students in need, benefited from a fund-raising effort held New Year's Eve at Sunnybrook Ballroom in Sanatoga.
Sunnybrook Ballroom will help its guests spend New Year's Eve enjoyably, and also help Operation Backpack in Pottstown fulfill its mission of feeding hungry students.
The Bel Canto Children's Chorus will perform in concert April 11 in Pottstown to help the Operation Backpack student meal program.
The 5-K race is scheduled for April 14 through Riverfront Park.
A Pottstown art school and gallery is giving help to another organization that ensures local students don't go hungry on their weekends away from a classroom.
Susquehanna Bank in Limerick and a Pottstown-based ministerial non-profit will work together next month to help fill some hungry local stomachs.
