Democrat Josh Shapiro won the race for governor of Pennsylvania, defeating Republican Doug Mastriano. Shapiro, the state’s two-term elected attorney general, ran to the middle on several key issues.
The recently passed state budget contains $135 million to support law enforcement agencies, including offering retention bonuses to officers in short-staffed police departments. It's so far unknown if local municipalities will apply.
