Pottsgrove's Board of School Directors agreed to wait until its next meeting for the announcement of committee appointments. Board President Robert Lindgren is still confirming member rosters.
Despite pandemic-related problems, the just-ended school year supplied a rosy outlook for the Pottsgrove School District. Its 12-month audit ending June 30 showed it accrued a $1.7 million surplus.
The Pottsgrove School District is keeping an eye on coronavirus-related statistics while it "respects the wishes" of families in offering virtual-only and hybrid education models, its superintendent said.
The school district is working with Montgomery County on arrangements for rapid, onsite testing of Pottsgrove teachers, hopefully within a couple of weeks. It's "another layer for defense," the superintendent said.
Personnel actions approved Tuesday by the Pottsgrove Board of School Directors dealt primarily with routine appointments, resignations, retirements, and assistance for student teacher placements.
A marketing piece and other efforts to recruit candidates interested in becoming the Pottsgrove School District's next superintendent are being handled by the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, the district said Thursday.
Pottsgrove schools' officials expected, at some point, to deal with coronavirus-positive exposures at one or more buildings. One was announced Tuesday, simply to keep parents informed, at the high school.
Pottsgrove Middle School students were named Tuesday to its first-quarter 2020-2021 rolls for distinguished honors, and honors.
