Thanks to a limited return of special federal funding, the Pottsgrove School District can continue distributing free meals to its students, just as it did in the spring. For now, though, money to cover its costs is available only until Dec. 31.
Pottsgrove School District social workers want to ensure its families receive school lunch benefits for which they may qualify. They'll be available Sept. 12 (Saturday) for special assistance sessions.
All Pottsgrove School District students headed back to classes Monday, albeit virtually. Lower Pottsgrove Elementary parents celebrated the event by giving away needed supplies and fun books.
Pottsgrove school parents have received more time, and more information, with which to make choices on students' return to education options. The deadline for parental intentions is now Tuesday (Aug. 4).
Pottsgrove School District Superintendent Dr. William Shirk again took aim Tuesday at providing answers to questions many parents seem to be asking about the return-to-education options.
Having discussed student return-to-education options during its Wednesday town hall meeting, the Pottsgrove School District on Thursday opened a webform to gather parents' choices data.
For viewers of Wednesday's virtual town hall on Pottsgrove School District reopening options, a surprising number of questions got answered. Some answers, however, prompted more questions. (Includes a 2.1-hour video of the town hall session)
Rather than have just one day to decide on 2020-'21 return-to-education preferences after a Pottsgrove town hall meeting scheduled for July 22, the district reports parents will get a full week.
