Boxes of fresh produce, dairy items, and protein collected from regional farmers and retailers are being offered for free Monday to any Pottsgrove School District resident, while supplies last.
The superintendent, assistant superintendent, and business administrator in the Pottsgrove School District all received 2-percent salary increases Tuesday from the Board of School Directors.
The Pottsgrove School District suspended its girls volleyball team activities Saturday, and Montgomery County began contact tracing calls, after a team member tested positive for coronavirus.
Monday marks the start of another week of virtual education in the Pottsgrove School District. Its resident families can take advantage of free meals being offered for their students.
All Pottsgrove School District classes are being held virtually today (Tuesday) as full-day sessions. The school board meets tonight. And district free meal pick-ups are scheduled today and tonight at Lower and West Pottsgrove elementary schools.
Thanks to a limited return of special federal funding, the Pottsgrove School District can continue distributing free meals to its students, just as it did in the spring. For now, though, money to cover its costs is available only until Dec. 31.
Pottsgrove School District social workers want to ensure its families receive school lunch benefits for which they may qualify. They'll be available Sept. 12 (Saturday) for special assistance sessions.
All Pottsgrove School District students headed back to classes Monday, albeit virtually. Lower Pottsgrove Elementary parents celebrated the event by giving away needed supplies and fun books.
