Baseball players from teams at Pottstown and Pottsgrove high schools united in community service Sunday. They participated in the Dr. Martin L. King Day of Service by spending hours to collect food for donation to families in need.
The Boyertown Area Charitable Program of the Berks County Community Foundation has awarded more than $41,000 in grant funds to projects proposed by five Boyertown area non-profit organizations.
They've done it, again. Pottsgrove Boys and Girls Cross Country team members, who not only worked hard in their sport but also gave time and effort to community projects, recently donated $5,500 to the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities.
Dozens of area residents participate annually in the Pottstown CROP Hunger Walk, which raises money to address food insecurity. The 2022 edition will be a month-long virtual event that offers walkers plenty of flexibility.
Last month's highly successful fund-raiser on behalf of the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities raised $36,000 to benefit its several programs for local families in poverty.
"Some Enchanted Evening" is this year's theme for the fifth annual Open Your Heart Fundraising Dinner and Concert to benefit the work of the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities.
The non-profit Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities is donating 25 percent of this year's value of its exempted property taxes to the borough, in response to an appeal from Borough Council.
