Sanatoga volunteers were teaching fire safety Thursday to youngsters at the YMCA Early Learning Center. Then came an accident call on U.S. Route 422, and a sudden surprise for the children in the class.
It wasn't a day of rest Sunday for representatives of the Pottstown, Ringing Hill, and Sanatoga fire companies, or Goodwill Ambulance. They were busy practicing life-saving skills.
Firefighters from Pottstown and six other organizations responded Saturday at varying times to help quench smoldering hay fires in a field off Old State Road.
Members of Pottstown and five other volunteer fire companies, and Goodwill Ambulance, contributed efforts Wednesday to a practice drill at Sanatoga Court and Center.
Firefighters from seven borough and area companies rushed to extinguish an early Thursday morning, two-alarm fire at the Eastwood Company on Shoemaker Road.
