If you receive municipal drinking water in Pottstown or Lower, Upper, and West Pottsgrove townships, keep an eye on its color during the next five weeks. Borough water hydrant flushing starts Monday.
The arrival of spring heralds the annual hydrant flushing performed in Pottstown by its Public Works Department. It is scheduled to start Monday, and will take about five weeks to complete.
Recent inspections have identified potential structural problems with Pottstown's Moser Road and South Evans Road bridges that cross railroad tracks. The cost of repairs is being explored.
Pottstown's Public Works Department will begin flushing the borough water system Monday, and continue the process for the next five weeks.
Street sweeping will be conducted in Pottstown in an organized way beginning Monday and continuing through mid-September.
