Runners craving a brisk jaunt in chilly weather are likely to enjoy the 5-K inaugural Pottstown Polar Run, which starts Jan. 1 at noon from Riverfront Park and follows the Schuylkill River Trail. Register online.
Public votes are being accepted online through Jan. 18 to select Pennsylvania’s River of the Year. Both the Schuylkill River and the Perkiomen Creek were nominated for the honor. You could help either win!

The 5K run, presented this year by Pottsgrove Athletics and the Manatawny Athletic Club, starts in Pottstown’s Riverfront Park near the MCCC campus on College Drive. Registrations are being accepted now.
Tree maintenance work being conducted for the Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department will require a three-days-only (Monday through Wednesday) closure of the River Walk at Pottstown's Riverfront Park.
You can enjoy a free movie on the night of July 22 (Friday), and during July 23 (Saturday) help revive a garden that attracts pollinating birds and insects. Both are planned at Pottstown's Riverfront Park.
