Pennsylvania American Water said its purchase of the Upper Pottsgrove Township sewer system, first begun more than two years ago, is now officially complete.
All five members of the Upper Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners were the Tuesday guests of state Sen. Bob Mensch during a visit to Harrisburg, and were formally introduced on the Senate floor.
Trace Slinkerd won re-election to the Upper Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners, and will be joined on the board by his running mates, Don Read and Hank Llewellyn. Incumbent Martin Schrieber lost his bid for re-election; France Krazalkovich also lost.
Pottsgrove school board members Tuesday renewed a contract for an Upper Pottsgrove police officer to be available 40 hours weekly at the middle school. Days earlier, it received notice from Lower Pottsgrove of its intent to end a similar arrangement.
The half of Poplar Street that lies within Upper Pottsgrove Township has cracks here, small craters there, and a bump or two. They will be smoothed over and the street repaved, commissioners agreed.
A picnic pavilion in Upper Pottsgrove's Sunset Park has never received much use, and has been been a target for vandals. The township Open Space and Recreation Committee has suggested moving it.
Although months away yet, the township manager has begun work on a 2021 budget draft and doesn't like what she sees. Revenues this year are down, and may go lower. The possibility of another deficit looms.
