SKIPPACK PA – Pennsylvania State Police are continuing an investigation, they said Tuesday (May 16, 2023), of an incident involving the alleged corruption of a minor and the subsequent alleged extortion of the minor’s parents.
Troopers from the Troop K Barracks in Skippack said the juvenile victim is a 14-year-old boy living within western Montgomery County (the municipal location is being withheld by The Post). He “was propositioned” while using the Snapchat messaging service “to send explicit photographs to another user,” they reported.
The photos “were then used to extort” credit card purchases by the boy’s parents of gift cards valued at about $600.
Troopers responded May 11 (Thursday) at 10:33 a.m. to a call from the parents, and began exploring the circumstances. Their report indicated evidence that could lead to a potential suspect is already being examined. The investigation is “ongoing,” they said.
