UNION TOWNSHIP PA – A hit-and-run driver whose identity is so far unknown struck a utility pole Sunday (April 9, 2023) in eastern Berks County, Pennsylvania State Police reported.

A patrol unit from the Troop L Barracks in Reading arrived at 8:32 p.m. at the intersection of Red Corner and Sycamore roads in Union Township to discover the pole had been hit. The driver was unavailable, having apparently fled from the scene in his or her own vehicle. It could not be identified by make or model.

Troopers said they determined the driver was “traveling south on Red Corner Road,” and was turning left onto Sycamore when he or she subsequently hit the pole. “There were no injuries as a result of this crash,” troopers stated.
